چکیده

In this paper a novel transmission scheme that combines non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and multi-carrier index keying (MCIK) is proposed. This scheme is proposed as a mechanism to enable multiple access for dense wireless device-to-device (D2D) systems that require high energy efficiency and effective interference management. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed in terms of the pairwise error probability (PEP) of user m. Novel closed-form expressions for the instantaneous and average pairwise error probability (PEP) over Rayleigh fading are derived. These expressions are used to investigate the detection performance of the proposed scheme over different configurations. Furthermore, a closed-form expression that approximates the overall average PEP is derived. This expression enables the performance analysis of NOMAMCIK within acceptable accuracy levels. The performance of the proposed scheme is assessed through numerical and simulation results.

Design and Analysis of an OFDM-based Differential Chaos Shift Keying Communication System

—In this paper, a new non-coherent chaos-based communication scheme, named orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based different chaos shift keying (OFDM-DCSK), is presented inspired by multi-carrier direct sequence codedivision multiple access (MC-DS-CDMA) system, multi-carrier DCSK (MC-DCSK) system, and channel estimation of OFDM system. In this scheme, all of the occupied subcarriers a...

Spreading sequences for uplink and downlink MC-CDMA systems: PAPR and MAI minimization

This paper deals with spreading sequences selection for downlink and uplink Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems with the aim of minimizing the dynamic range of the transmitted multicarrier signal envelope and the multiple access interference. The crest factor of orthogonal and non-orthogonal sequences are compared analytically and by simulation for downlink and uplink ...

A Fair Power Allocation for Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in the Power Domain

This paper presents an investigation on the performance of the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in the power domain scheme. A Power Allocation (PA) method is proposed from NOMA throughput expression analysis. This method aims to provide fair opportunities for users to improve their performance. Thus, NOMA users can achieve rates higher than, or equal to, the rates obtained with the convent...

Unified MIMO-Multicarrier Designs: A Space-Time Shift Keying Approach

A survey and tutorial is provided on the subject of multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier (MC) systems relying on the space–time shift keying (STSK) concept. We commence with a brief review of the family of MIMO systems, which is followed by the design of STSK systems in the context of MC modulation-based transmissions over dispersive wireless channels. Specifically, the STSK schem...

System performance comparison of Fast-OFDM system and overlapping Multi-carrier DS-CDMA scheme

In this paper, an overlapped Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) named as Fast-OFDM system and an overlapping multi-carrier direct-sequence code division multiple access (MC-DS-CDMA) scheme are introduced. The effect of the overlapping between sub-carriers, of Fast-OFDM and MC-CDMA with binary phase shift keying (BPSK), on the performance in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN)...
